RideLink

Posts, Comments & Chat

The feed is where riders meet. These are the rules for posting in it, and for the comments, DMs and community chats hanging off it.

Stuff We Love to See

This is the easy part. RideLink runs on riders showing up and sharing the good stuff. If your post does any of this, you are already doing it right.

Your rides and your bikes

Photos from the last rideout, your build, the unglamorous roadside flat fix, the sunset you actually stopped for. Real rides from real riders are the entire point of the feed.

Rideouts people can actually join

Post a clear meetup, a time, a pace, and where you are headed. A good rideout pin turns a stranger scrolling the map into someone standing next to you at the start line. That is the whole magic trick.

Helpful, honest map reports

A real police heads-up, a real rideout, a real note that helps the riders nearby make a decision. Accurate and current beats dramatic every single time.

Actually being a person

Hype someone's build, answer the new rider's question, welcome the person who just showed up. A community is a crowd that remembers your name, and you build that one decent comment at a time.

Spam, Promotion and Engagement Bait

Being a shop, a brand or a creator is not against the rules. Treating the feed as a billboard is.

Fine

  • Telling riders about your own build, shop, ride or channel when it is genuinely relevant to the thread.
  • Posting your own for-sale listing, following the buying and selling rules.
  • Answering a question with a link to something you made, as long as you say it is yours.

Not allowed

  • The same post, or near enough, across many communities or many times a day.
  • Affiliate-link dumps, crypto, "make money riding", fake giveaways, follow-for-follow.
  • Engagement bait — "comment 1 if you ride, 2 if you don't" and its relatives.
  • Coordinated voting, liking or reporting, and running extra accounts to do it.
  • Links to malware, phishing pages or anything pretending to be RideLink.

Removed. Repeat spam suspends the account, and accounts made to evade that are removed on sight.

Be Yourself

No impersonation

Do not pretend to be another rider, a shop, a brand, a public figure, or RideLink itself. Parody and fan accounts are fine when the profile makes it obvious that is what they are — the test is whether a rider scrolling quickly would be fooled.

RideLink staff will never DM you asking for a password, a code, or payment. If an account says it is us and asks for any of those, report it.

Account removed. Verified impersonation of another rider is permanent.

Label AI-generated content

If you post an image, video or audio clip that is AI-generated or materially altered, and a rider could reasonably take it for a real ride, a real bike or a real event, say so in the post. This matters most for anything people might act on: a bike that does not exist, a route that was never ridden, a crash that never happened.

Unlabeled synthetic content is removed. Passing it off as a real incident is treated as a fake report.

Comments, DMs and Communities

The rules do not stop at posts. Chats and communities are held to the same line, and honestly a slightly friendlier one, because it is a smaller room.

Do not slide into DMs to harass, spam, or send anyone the things on the Safety and People list. Unsolicited sexual messages get the account removed on the first one, not the third.

Community chats have owners and moderators who can remove messages and remove you, and they would rather not, so do not make it their whole afternoon. Treat someone's community like their living room: you are a guest, act like it, and you will get invited back.
